Sadly, today marks the 8 year anniversary of the passing of one of the greatest triple threats (yes; amazing singer, dancer, and actreess), Aaliyah Dana Haughton, simply known to us as Aaliyah. The world lost a angel in a tragic plane crash on the 25th of August in 2001 while departing from here "Rock the Boat" video shoot in the Bahamas. Other's on board included Luis Morales III (Pilot), Eric Forman (Hair Stylist), Anthony Dodd (Security Guard), Scott Gallin (Video Producer), Douglas Kratz (Stylist), Christopher Maldonado and Blackground Records employees Keith Wallace & Gina Smith.

The Brooklyn, NY born/ Detroit, MI raised performer blessed the entertainment world with 3 classic albums before her untimely death at the tender age of 22. Age Ain't Nothing But a Number, One in a Million, and the self-titled Aaliyah still live on today in the hearts of music fans across the world. Aside from music, she also stared in the film Romeo Must Die, along side Rapper/ Actor DMX and Actor/ Martial Artist Jet Li.

Check out some of JimmyJazz.com favorite Aaliyahs' videos. Feel free to leave comments and mention what you love about Aaliyah!

I'm really happy to see that her legacy leaves on... that you still take the time to talk about her, because it feels like people are forgetting :( Fans will never get over her death but it's always good to share our thoughts together. :) What I liked the most? The way she moved, the timeless/out of space/bomb music she made, her style, her harmonies. By the way, a special thought for Static who's gone for a year and a half now :(
