A retro rarity is born: Air Force 1 Black/White
The Air Force 1s are not just another basketball shoe - they essentially invented the concept of retro.
When Nike released the Air Force 1 in 1982, there were no plans for reviving the shoe in the future. In fact, these sneakers were discontinued a year after they were produced. The idea of reincarnating a style that had already been retired just to showcase it in different colors didn't seem logical at the time. It's hard to imagine a world without endless AF 1 colorways, but it took time for the Air Force 1 to establish its legendary status. When the 1s first debuted, Nike was in the habit of designing athletic shoes and then replacing them with something better. Yet these kicks weren't going to disappear so easily.
Fortunately for all of us, sneaker nostalgia set in - in a big way. The world has now seen thousands of versions of the 1s, but among all the vibrant colorways and trendy editions, you can't go wrong with a classic black and white palette. So keep a lookout Feb. 22 for these timeless kicks at Jimmy Jazz stores and the website. Since it doesn't get more American than the Air Force 1 when it comes to footwear, you'll want to pick up a corresponding New Era Americans Snapback, which is a Jimmy Jazz exclusive. After all, the Rochester Amerks are one of the oldest franchises in the AHL, and they're killing the North Division right now.
