'Stay Trippy' makes the Billboard Top 5
Juicy J's single "Bandz A Make Her Dance" was already a platinum hit, and now the album it's on, "Stay Trippy," has climbed to the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 Chart. According to The Source, more than 64,000 copies of the album flew off the shelves in just a week since it was released on Aug. 27. "Stay Trippy" also reached the #1 slot on the U.S. digital album chart.
Is Juicy fazed by this success? Not in the slightest. In an interview with XXL magazine, the Memphis-bred rapper revealed that he worked on this album for about a year, and during that time, he didn't feel stressed about the outcome at all.
"I know I got great songs," he said. "I've got confidence in myself that whatever I put out…it might not be as big as this or bigger than that but it's definitely going to work."
When asked about the considerable lapse in time between the release of his hit single and the rest of the album, Juicy J was just as self-assured, calling himself a "legend in the game." He went on to tell XXL that he's producing the Pimp C album and some tracks for Wiz Khalifa while also working a Taylor Gang album. His ultimate goal, though, is to be the head of a major record label.
What do you think - does Juicy have what it takes to be a hip hop legend?
