Timbaland makes big promises for MJ project
Timbaland is on a roll: After collaborations with Jay Z, Robin Thicke and finally, Justin Timberlake on "The 20/20 Experience," he's now working on a Michael Jackson tribute album that according to Hip Hop DX, he guarantees will be "something big."
If his career thus far is any indication, the album could be explosive. Hip Hop DX noted that Timbaland has worked with a bevy of hit artists, including Nelly Furtado and Ludacris. After helping to produce rapper Ginuwine's album, as well as the late Aaliyah's, it became clear that his talents extended farther than performing.
The Virginia Beach-bred beatsmith revealed that Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid came straight to his house to discuss the Michael Jackson project before he agreed to do it. He also unveiled the title of the album's first single: "Chicago."
Rolling Stone magazine reported that the artist finally provided some insight into the project in an interview with Revolt TV. The album will fuse together Timbaland's own music with vocal recordings from MJ. The Grammy-winning producer is still keeping the details under wraps. In fact, the release date is still unknown.
Do you think Timbaland can do the King of Pop justice?
