Tom Ford talks about getting his own song
Famed designer Tom Ford is no stranger to making the top men in Hollywood look fly and put together. While he's been thanked on the red carpet and in magazine articles, up until now, no one has dedicated a song to him. Enter Jay-Z, whose latest album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," features a track dubbed "Tom Ford."
BET reports the song describes that while other MCs are looking to use drugs to inspire their music, Jay instead turns to looking and feeling top notch in duds by the man behind the suits. The flattering rap didn't go unnoticed by Ford - he recently discussed his feelings about the track, and it may come as a surprise to some, but even big name players like Ford gets starstruck.
"Who would not be flattered to have an entire Jay-Z track named after them? I mean, come on, it's pretty rare that something like that happens," Ford told Women's Wear Daily. "It's a kind of validation of one's work, as it means that one has really penetrated and made an impact on popular culture."
Ford goes on to say that he's been dressing Jay for years and it seems the partnership will continue.
Were you surprised by the "Tom Ford" track? Do you like it or do you think Jay is just trying to earn brownie points?
