Tracy Reese talks fashion
Fashion designer Tracy Reese has been around for awhile, creating everything from beautiful gowns fit for the first lady to street inspired hip hop clothes. Now, Reese is teaming up with Anthropologie to create a capsule collection that ladies of every level can afford.
BET reports the store has teamed up with a variety of designers for their Made in Kind project and Reese was happy to get on board. As for her inspiration behind her collection, Reese credits the gardens of the Frida Kahlo museum, because of the flowers surprisingly feminine hues.
Reese is also excited to be able to expand her collection to the general public and not just big name celebrities, as she feels every woman deserves to have a dress that fits her body to a tee, and that's something she's spent her career going after.
"In every collection, I try to create dresses that suit different personalities and body types so that women everywhere can find something that suits them - and this collection is no different," Reese told the news outlet.
Although this new collection offers fun and flirty women's urban clothes, don't expect Reese to quit her day job. Glamour Magazine spoke with the designer about making a name for herself, thanks in part to Michelle Obama.
According to the source, Obama has repeatedly worn pieces from Reese's collection and the star power she holds is greater than any A-list celebrity.
The Huffington Post reports Obama was recently seen wearing a striped sweater from Reese's latest collection while visiting kids at a supermarket in Chicago to discuss making healthy food choices.
Ladies looking to get in on the Tracy Reese action can pick up her flirty dresses at Anthropologie now. However, divas looking to save can get a similar look by purchasing the Baby Phat Floral Print Dress for less.
