Trailblazing Hyperdunks Soar into the Limelight
by Ashli Prescott
NIKE and Jimmy Jazz have teamed up to release 3 Hyperdunk styles this week. They will be dropping in 3 bright colors perfect for summer available in tropical teal, sonic yellow, and university red. They first jumped onto the scene when introduced in 2008 for the Beijing Games. You might remember the iconic commercial that featured Kobe Bryant "flying" over a car in these colorful kicks, satirizing their agility and weightlessness. The new 2013 version of the kicks are evolved adaptations of originals. NIKE footwear designer Pete Fogg enlightens that, "Although basketball shoe design has greatly transformed over nearly a century, it's the small, crafted details that make a noticeable difference on the court. The Nike Hyperdunk 2013 moves intuitively with the foot, while the tailored tweaks we've made lead to an incredibly lightweight, breathable and durable shoe for both indoor and outdoor play." Basketball sneakers have come a long way since their beginnings and the Hyperdunk model showcases the 3 main technologically boosts: Hyperfuse construction, Dynamic Flywire, and Lunarlon cushioning. Cleveland Cavaliers team member Kyrie Irving dotes on the shoes, "When I first put the new Hyperdunks on, I didn't want to take them off," according to nikeinc.com.
Look for them in stores and at Jimmyjazz.com on 7/20 retailing for $140.
