Trey Songz supports Obama in VA, stops by Jimmy Jazz store
Trey Songz has been spotted visiting his home state of Virginia recently and he took the time out from his busy schedule to get his shop on. Progress-Index.com reports the R&B crooner was in town to put on a free concert for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign at The National in Richmond on August 29.
Songz opened up about his decision to donate his time and his voice to the cause. Songz admitted he believes it's his duty as an entertainer to try and get young people, including his fans, to go out and vote.
"I feel it is my duty to encourage and educate my fan base, especially here at home, about the importance of their vote," Songz told the news outlet. "Both the youth and African-American votes are critical to our president's success, and it's an honor to help. The Gotta Vote Concert is about us coming together, making our voices heard, and giving our president another four years."
Although Songz was in Virginia for a bigger cause, he also made it a point to stop in and spend some cash at the Jimmy Jazz store in the North Military Circle Mall, 880 North Military Hwy, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. The singer was a welcomed customer as he dropped $500 on everything from fresh hoodies and jeans to sneakers and accessories.
