Venus Williams discusses fashion
Venus Williams is no stranger to coming out on top, as she not only has a successful tennis career, but also many endorsement deals that give her the freedom to express herself. EBONY Magazine recently sat down with Williams to discuss her life and the re-launch of her tennis apparel line, EleVen.
According to the source, Williams is excited about launching the clothing line again, which was formerly sold exclusively at a department store chain.
"The collection is inspired by classic sportswear and back in the day everybody wore all white and in very classic silhouettes," Williams told the publication about the feel of the rejuvenated line. "I love classic but I also love fun brights, patterns and prints - so I'm establishing that perfect mix."
Aside from her new line, Williams also spoke about her greatest fashion moment thus far, when she was honored with the coveted "best dressed" at an award show.
"I won 'best dressed' at the ESPYS (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) a few times. I especially liked the Mara Hoffman dress I wore one year, and actually whenever I’m designing I’m always looking at her clothes," Williams told the news outlet. "So I love her and she's created one of my best fashion moments."
Williams added that as of late, she's been pretty focused on the upcoming summer Olympics, which she will be competing in the Doubles match. She told the magazine she's been training hard to prepare and hopefully take home the gold.
Yahoo! Sports reports Williams' go at the Olympics may mean more to her than previous competitions as she is now living with Sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease that may knock her out of professional sports altogether.
Fans of Williams who want to look sporty-chic might want to purchase women's urban clothes like the Rocawear Bring It Back French Terry Dress that is comfortable and stylish.
