Welcome Back, Wu-Tang
Things are looking up for Wu-Tang fans. Last year, the golden era hip hop crew was scheduled to release a new album, "A Better Tomorrow," to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut LP "Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers." We got a tease with "Family Reunion," but beyond that track, nothing came to fruition, and the album was postponed indefinitely. Then, recently, the Clan pulled a Beyonce by unexpectedly dropping a new single, "Keep Watch," which has everyone amped about what's to come.
According to Pitchfork, Wu-Tang is making good on their initial promise, and "A Better Tomorrow" is "almost ready to ship." In a new Grantland feature interview, Raekwon admitted that the group knew "Family Reunion" wasn't just a single - it was a part of something bigger. He also admitted that while RZA has had a heavy hand in the album, the whole Clan is getting involved.
"He has done his job to the greatest of his ability when we were younger, but now every man plays an imperative role in this situation," Rae told Grantland. "His plan was to do a more humble album. We was like, Nah. You can't do that with the hardest group in the game."
Are you excited for that the long-awaited album is officially on its way?
