XBox One impresses with new features
Like most electronics, gaming consoles continue to evolve and expand, in many cases for the better. One of the most anticipated releases of the year, the Xbox One, has left gaming lovers excited and ready to use the major updates provided by Microsoft. Though the gaming unit won't actually be released to the public until after the E3 trade show in June, some lucky fans recently got to test the product out, according to Freshness magazine.
Microsoft showed off its latest baby during a special presentation May 21 at its Redmond, Wash., headquarters and those in attendance likely noticed its simple, throwback box style. The large and wide console must be placed horizontally to work, so fans looking to purchase the latest Xbox will need to start making room for this bad boy now. On the same note, the latest in the Xbox family will not be compatible with older game models, so buying all-new versions of old favorites could deter an interested shopper.
Despite its drawbacks, the Xbox One does come with some exciting upgrades, CNET U.K. reports. The gaming console boasts 8GB RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray drive, USB 3.0 ports, Wi-Fi connectivity and even a personality - with a voice command feature similar to Apple's Siri and Google Now. More good news? Xbox One players can "hand over" the controls to a friend (who does not need to be at the gamer's house) to help him or her get through tough areas in any game.
