By Souleo Forget Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and James Brown. The real dance moves come from these animals compiled in this week's LOL.

Take that John Travolta

This dog is giving John Travolta a run for his money by killing the routine to

"You're the One that I Want," from "Grease."

Dancing Monkeys

Dancing is an international art and these monkeys in India sure know how to get down.

A Tribute to "Lady Marmalade"

Here is a compilation of various animals dancing to "Lady Marmalade," which was first made a hit by Labelle. In this cover version, which animal do you think most resembles Lil' Kim nowadays? Just sayin'

You Said It…

Michael Jackson gets disrespected; it pays to frequent porn shops; and all the Bill Gates in the world better prepare to relinquish some of that dough. Money talks after the jump.

Just leave Michael Jackson alone

The greedy are wasting no time profiting off of Michael Jackson's legacy with Sony's controversial release of a posthumous new album by the King of Pop. The album is being labeled a fraud by many of the Jackson family members and the release of the single, "Breaking News," has folks questioning if the vocals are even Michael's. Will.I.Am recently added in his two cents and noted that it's disrespectful to release MJ's unfinished music. I couldn't agree more.

"I believe it has everything to do with the money. I believe Michael left this legacy for his children (MJ3) & not all the others (Sony, Branca, McClain) who are profiting off of his hard work & efforts. Katherine & the children are not happy about this release. What does this tell you?"

Put your money where your porn is

Who knew that hanging out at the local porn shop could result in someone winning a nearly $129 million jackpot. Well blessings came in abundance for Mike Greer and a group of close friends after they won the Powerball lottery with a ticket brought at a porn shop in Lansing, Michigan. But get this; they say it was the Lord who made it happen. Hmmm, check out this commenter's interesting take on that line.

""The only thing I can assume is that the Lord trusted us to do certain things with the money that He bestowed upon us," he said.....moments after paying the late fee for "shaving ryans privates." Ah yes, the lord does work in mysterious ways."

Pay up, rich folks

After some miscommunication, President Obama has cleared the air to let the wealthy know that he has no plans to extend Bush's tax cuts to the wealthy. As the commenter below notes this is a great decision since something's gotta give. The wealthy have had a tax cut under former President Bush and still the economy has not recovered so let's remember the needy, shall we?

"...all the rich people got these tax cuts and the economy was tanking, jobs were being lost, and they just kept hoarding the money like they were saving for the end of the world, fast forward a few years and we are going to keep doing the same thing...The middle class and poor people need the money not the rich who helped make this mess in the first place."

Marsha Ambrosius: Flying Solo and Loving It

November 2, 2010 / Posted in Interviews / Music
Tags: Floetry / Jill Scott / Marsha Ambrosius / Michael Jackson / Musiq

By Souleo Although all good things must come to an end, sometimes that end is way too soon. Such was the case with the end of the soul duo, Floetry. With their balance of poeticism, sensual grooves and Marsha Ambrosius' impressive voice and songwriting they made a distinctive impact at the height of neo-soul. Songs like "Say Yes," "Getting Late," and the Michael Jackson hit, "Butterflies" remain pleasurable songs for lovers. Fast forward a few years later and now Marsha is aiming to establish herself as a solo artist. JimmyJazz.com caught up with her to learn how the music industry led her to gain weight, how she's not allowing her 70 lbs. weight loss to give her extra pressure and the excitement of flying solo.

On how the music industry's fast-moving pace contributed to her weight gain:

Anyone can relate to the grind. It's me working as late as possible be it shows, interviews or traveling and waking up and doing it all over again. In that element recording I didn't see me gaining the weight. Where many rock stars can have a more destructive vice mine was food.

On not letting the industry pressure her to keep the weight off:

Early on in Philly music resurging with Jill Scott and Musiq my image was never an issue. It was okay to be heavy set. It was about the music and I wasn't coerced to be a certain way to create music. Now I only started noticing how important it is to other people. Weight loss is big business but whatever I'm going through I've always maintained being me. I know when I am going overboard or slacking.

On what she's learning about herself as a solo artist:

This is all new to me. I enjoy singing and writing and I didn't know it would entail interviews. Now I get to see all aspects of what is the entertainment industry and bask in that and be open. I enjoy being able to be me 100% learning me all over again.

You Said It…

By Souleo. Everyone has an opinion and everyone loves expressing their views especially online.  That's why JimmyJazz.com has created a new feature entitled, You Said it... Every week we will select some of the most humorous, random, shocking, insightful and intelligent comments from the world wide web on that week's hot topics.  This week we scoured the web and picked the most intriguing quotes on Ne-Yo announcing that he is going to be a dad, the Jackson family, Fantasia's new video for "Bittersweet," the BP oil spill and those annoying iPhone 4 issues.  Check it.

Watch Your Pockets Ne-Yo

This commenter below is feeling like there's a double standard for out of wedlock children.  But it's the allegation that Ne-Yo's girlfriend, Moneytta Shaw may be a gold-digger that has raised eyebrows, especially with all the recent sexual exploitation in the music business.

"WAIT!! IT IS OK FOR HIM TO GET SOMEONE PREGNANT AND YOU GUYS CONGRATULATE HIM BUT WHEN A FAMOUS FEMALE GETS PREGNANT.. SHE IS STUPID, DUMB A HOE AND LETS NOT FORGET "WHAT HAPPENED TO GETTING MARRIED FIRST THEN HAVING A CHILD" MAN YA'LL ARE SOOOOO WRONG!! AND WHAT MAKES IT SO BAD IS THAT HE GOT A MONEY HUNGRY, GOLD DIGGER PREGNANT!!!!! SHE ONLY DATES BALLERS AND RAPPERS ETC.. NE-YO U DUMB FUCK!!!"

The Jackson Family, Love 'Em or Hate' Em

If this isn't a backhanded comment then I don't know what is.  On one hand the commenter is defending the Jackson family but on the other insulting them.  Hilarious.

"It's sad & pathetic that people are condemning his family. If the family doesn't make money from his death then others outside of it will profit from it - it's best it stay in the family even if they are media whores with money hungry ways..."

To Be Hood or Not to Be

I agree with the commenter that Fantasia sounds great but disagree that she can't switch up her image.  Just because you're from the hood doesn't mean you always have to represent it.

"Fantasia sounds great! I like the song. I don't like the treatment they did for her video. Fantasia is much more a round the way girl and this doesn't show her personality, which is great. This video isn't her or what's she's about. I think they try to water her down to appeal to the masses."

By Any Means Necessary

I have to agree that the BP oil spill is a national emergency.  If the answer lies in Europe then we need to do whatever it takes to resolve the problem since it won't go away on its own.

"A national emergency is in order. This should circumvent laws on the books that regulate the percentage of oil free water allowed back into the gulf from Dutch skimmers that we have rejected, even though they have been offered free of charge.

I think that the time is ripe for Obama to take charge here. Or has he been black-mailed by corporate Amerika into rejecting "socialist" assistance from Europe?"

You Better Hold Me Right, Baby

The iPhone 4 has been getting mixed reviews and one main issue is the loss of reception on some phones when held at a certain angle.  So you gotta love this sarcastic comment below which should bring some comic relief for anyone upset that they had to shell out the big bucks on a wasted phone.

"People's hands are bad antennas, it's so obvious"

Michael Jackson's "This Is It" Video

michael-jackson-this-is-it-large

Probably one of the most heart drenching news stories of 2009 had to be the early demise of the greatest entertainer known to man-kind, Michael Jackson. Before his untimely death that stunned the world, MJ was gearing up his moon walking shoes for a 50 show tour in London, titled This Is It. In conjunction with the tour, Jackson had planed to release both a album and movie as a complete This Is It package. The first single was also titled after the tour. Below is the official music video, directed by Spike Lee. It gives fans an intimate look into Jackson's childhood and career.

A bunch of our favorite celebs have emulated the style of the great Michael Jackson. He was known for setting trends and having the world follow them, and this will certainly continue... even after his death. Jackson was probably the first entertainer to popularize the 'military look', which only fits him well, since he was indeed a leader. One of our top brands, Rocawear, a leader in urban fashion, recently dropped a Nomadic military jacket, which sort of resembles Jackson's famous collection of military jackets. What do you guys think?

Usher Sings "Gone Too Soon" to Michael Jackson

July 8, 2009 / Posted in Music / TV

usher-gone-to-soon

Yesterday R&B vocalist, Usher, delivered a heartfelt performance of Michael Jackson's classic hit "Gone to Soon" at Jackson's powerful and moving public funeral service, held at the Staple Center in Los Angeles. To many (including us here at JimmyJazz.com) the most touching part of the performance was when the 30-year old walked down from the stage and sang to Jackson's closed coffin. At the end of the rendition, Usher broke down into tears.

Both MJ and Usher had the opportunity of performing with one another years ago. Here's a clip of Jackson performing his 2001 hit, "You Rock World" from his Invisible album. Usher, along with comedian Chris Tucker, join Jackson on stage for a classic performance.

The original version of "Gone to Soon" was a song Jackson produced from his eight album, Dangerous. The song was dedicated to Ryan White, a young AIDS victim from Kokomo, Indiana who died from the fatal disease on April 8, 1990. Michael Jackson become friends with White prior to his early death.

Feel free to leave your comments about the performance and MJ.
