By Souleo. Diddy swings from a chandelier; Foxy Brown gets arrested again; Kid Cudi attacks yet another fan; false accusations of racism lead to media/political circus; and a gay rights activist gets discharged from the military. It's all here in this week's round-up. Check it.
Diddy Has a Ball

Surprisingly this shot for GQ Magazine has created quite a buzz online. In my opinion it's a fun image but nothing that should have controversy stamped all over it. Yet the image has ignited talk of a midlife crisis, gay rumors and allegations of coonery. Still few comments were as funny as this PMS inspired line.
"Diddy oh Diddy."

Foxy Brown

You would think after serving time in jail that hip-hopper, Foxy Brown would be extra cautious about getting involved in unnecessary drama. Well such is not the case after she was arrested for violating a protective order filed against her dating back to 2007. According to the rumor mill, the partially deaf star was blasting music from her Brooklyn home during rehearsal for a performance which led to a confrontation with her nemesis and neighbor, Arlene Raymond. As the comment below demonstrates Foxy needs to bring the focus back to her music and away from the antics.
I thought Foxy couldn't even get arrested now nowadays...guess po-po are the only ones checking for her..lmao...."

Kid Cudi Attacks Another One

Oh no, not again. After a fan hopped on stage during Kid Cudi's recent show the hip-hopper couldn't resist getting an ass-whooping in. While there's much that could be said about that action it's the comment below about the security guard that has me cracking up.
"Why was Rick Ross doing security?"

Media & Political Organizations Jump the Gun

After long-time freedom fighter and USDA employee, Shirley Sherrod's comments were taken out of context a media firestorm was lit. What was meant to be an inspiring story surrounding race and class issues turned into an example of how quickly and easily the media will crucify without justification, and how politics will stay play the race card. Thankfully the commenter below reminds us of the true meaning of Shirley's speech.
"It was about a "life-lesson"...a "teaching" moment...Life presents you with choices just as it "colors" your responses to those choices by your experiences. This lady had great justification to give in to her baser instincts, but she chose to grow beyond her prejudices...a lesson for us all."

You Can't Keep a Good Soldier Down

After coming out of the closet and taking a stance against the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy Iraq war veteran, Lt. Dan Choi has been formally discharged due to his sexuality. The commenter below helps put this case into perspective by reminding us all of the military's many former acts of discrimination and why this case is no different.
"Fact is until Truman integrated the service, before the country was integrated, blacks were in different units in the army. And as late as the 60's women were put up in "WAC shacks" and treated as second class citizens. That was the rules of the day. And they were wrong."

The man that landed on Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak, singing the track "Welcome to Heartbreak", and helping with songwriting on "Heartless" and "Paranoid," Scott Mescudi is now set to tackle is own mission. Better recognized as Kid Cudi, this rapper-singer explores his inner thoughts with dark, edgy, and futuristic melodies in Man On The Moon: The End of Day.
Cudi’s sound does stand alone from other hip-hop stars. The debut single “Day n’ Night,” introduces his vision. But collectively, it works. The Cleveland native can give thanks to acts like Andre 3000’s Love Below, and Ye’ for opening that door. The duo, along with lyric legend Common, makes a hit on latest single “Make Her Say.” Originally titled “I Poke Her Face,” but changed for radio play. The song also contains a vocal sample of “Poker Face,” by pop phenomenon, Lady Gaga.
The opening “In My Dreams,” is an eye-opener into the world, according to Cudi. It follows with “Soundtrack 2 My Life,” where his life stories began to unfold. "Cudder" tells aspiring dreams to horrific nightmares. His imagination may be difficult to grasp but worth exploring the journey and figuring it out.
