Tiny gives T.I. a hand that lands them both in hot water; internet sensation Ted Williams is no longer homeless but he still needs a new jacket; and is political rhetoric responsible for the shooting death of Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords? It's a mixed bag after the jump.
Give me a hand, will ya?

Okay, what is it with T.I. and Tiny? These two can never seem to stay out of trouble. This week their troubles are pretty hilarious and innocent as Tiny was caught sexually pleasuring her husband during a prison visit. Now while a kiss, hug and holding hands are allowed these two certainly should have known that fondling each other below the belt was against the rules. As the commenter below notes the one paying for it all is T.I. as now he's left hanging (pun intended). On another note, SMH that this comment comes from someone named "bishop."
"Wow as a married man, I totally understand what happened here! Now poor T.I will have to finish up himself. Its just not the same!"

No longer homeless and in need of a stylist

It's rare that we come across stories as heartwarming and inspirational as that of Ted Williams. Ted is the 53-year old homeless man who became an Internet sensation after a video of his golden radio voice was released on YouTube. The video led to him getting offers for full-time radio gigs, a house and the chance to reunite with his 92-year old mother after many years apart. Still, some folks can't help but find something to make fun of and this commenter is no different. Apparently the same jacket Ted wears in his initial video is what he has continued to wear in public appearances thereafter, despite getting a fresh haircut.
"will somebody get this guy a new jacket!"

Watch your mouth

When it comes to the promotion of violence the finger is usually pointed at hip-hop not political figures such as Sarah Palin. Yet, that's exactly what is happening following the tragic assassination of Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona. Many people are wondering how much the intense rhetoric of political figures such as Sarah contributed to fueling the hatred and anger that led the killer to take action. For example one of Sarah's catchphrases to her constituents is "Don't retreat; reload." While no one knows what really led the troubled murderer to target Gabrielle there may be a lesson to learn from this sad incident.
"Those who deny "words have consequences" also deny that teachers influence their students, parents influence their children, pastors influence their flocks, politicians influence their constituents, ceo's influence their employees, etc..."

Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar create a scene on "The View;" T.I. proves that saving a life means nothing for saving your own; and the FDA may allow fake salmon to enter your body. Things get dirty after the jump.
"The View" Ladies Have Had It Up To Here

When it comes to debates "The View," co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar don't play. During their screaming match with Bill O'Reilly they walked off the stage when Bill stated "Muslims killed us on 9/11." Now I agree with the ladies that Bill was quite tactless with his remarks but isn't the point of "The View" for people to share their views in an open space and debate like adults? With that said, as the commenter below notes it takes only one word for Joy to get riled up.
"I wish O'Reilly had said the name "Bush" so we coulda seen Joys head explode."

T.I. Heads Back to Home Prison

T.I. may have helped save a suicidal man's life this week but in the yes of the law that means nothing. After being arrested last month on felony possession of a controlled substance while on probation for a 2009 federal gun possession conviction T.I. is going back to jail for 11 months. Now I'm not one for judging folks since we all fall down and make mistakes, but the commenter below makes her judgment call quite funny.
"And the dumb ass award of 2010 goes to DRUMROLL.......Tip Harris aka T.I. aka "please send me back to the booty smellin' big house so massah can tell me what to do all day and monitor my every move because freedom on the outside, being with my family and making millions just isn't for real G's real G's do real time twice in one year"....LOL....."

Something Smells Fishy Around Here

Put down those salmon cakes and read this post right here, right now! The U.S Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is considering allowing genetically engineered salmon into the marketplace for human consumption. Of course there are concerns about the safety of such salmon and their effect on the environment, especially on the wildlife if the salmon is released into the wild. As of posting there was only one comment on this post at discovery.com but this one comment says it all.
"In addition to the possibility of these genes escaping into the wild, I think one of my biggest concerns is about the healthfulness of eating the fish. Farmed salmon have many disadvantages in this arena over the wild fish. If they grow so fast and so big, are they fattier? Are those fats in the same balance of the omega-3s we are supposed to be getting from salmon? Are they full of PCBs? If these salmon are successful in the marketplace, will I even be able to buy wild salmon anymore? (That is already a problem!)"

Rapper T.I. just can't get enough trouble; actress Gabourey Sidibe is at the center of a beauty controversy; another case of human trafficking sheds light on the state of contemporary slavery; boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. may soon be fighting his way all over prison; and Black women everywhere can heave a sigh of relief after a woman's accusations are proven false. Oh yeah, we got the juice.
T.I. Must Have a Thing For Jail Cells

After serving time for his 2009 gun possession conviction, going on a media tour of redemption and being placed on probation it appears that rapper, T.I. still hasn't learned a damn thing. T.I. is now being ordered to appear before a judge after failing a drug test following his September, 1st bust for possession of marijuana, codeine and ecstasy. The commenter below pretty much sumps up everyone's thoughts on T.I. at this point.
"T.I stands for tremendous Idiot...Now tiny gone spend all his money"

Gabourey Sidibe Just Can't Win

If Howard Stern isn't busy telling the world that she will never have a legitimate Hollywood career or if she isn't being ridiculed online for her weight then the hot topic when it comes to Gabby is her skin color. Many are accusing the prestigious Elle magazine of lightening her skin to play into beauty standards. I'm with the commenter below who thinks everyone should just chill out and appreciate the fact that Gabby broke barriers for women everywhere with this cover.
Ok let's be real people, Gabby Sidibe is a talented young woman; which is why she is gracing the cover of Elle. However they have a standard to maintain as a fashion magazine. Why are we criticizing the editorial choices made only to enhance her photo? They didn't lighten her skin, they gave her great lighting! As they should have. Given her size, Gabby's full body shots probably weren't as flattering as her close up. And this is the loveliest photo I've ever seen of her. Can't we just appreciate that?

Slavery Ain't Over Yet

They may not be in chains on a plantation but there are still victims of slavery in the U.S. and abroad. Sophia Manuel, 41, and Alfonso Baldonado Jr., 45, pled guilty to conspiring to hold 39 Filipino workers against their will working in country clubs and hotels in the Florida city of Boca Raton. The workers were placed in poor living conditions, worked for little or no pay and were threatened with serous economic harm and/or possible incarceration if they failed to comply with demands. So here is some food for thought from the commenter below on the reality of slavery in modern times.
Don't worry. This will be commonplace with avg. American citizens in as many years. Once the plans are complete and the top 10% get 95% of the wealth we will truly have a modern serf/ slave culture just like the good old' days. You laugh, but look around......

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Has a Stormy Forecast Ahead

Things ain't looking too good for the popular boxer these days. Following an alleged domestic incident with his baby mama in Las Vegas he is now being charged with felony counts of coercion, robbery and grand larceny, plus four misdemeanors. If convicted of all charges he could end up behind bars for 28 years. Yikes! No one knows what to believe in this story except for the commenter below who seems to think it's another ploy to avoid fighting Manny Pacquiao a.k.a Pacman.
Have to hand it too him... it could really be another great excuse.... sorry pacman im in jail.... i have to hand it to him... the things he does just not to fight pacman... maybe he feels safer away for 28 years to protect his record....

Don't Blame it on a Sista

Bethany Storro has a lot of explaining to do. Bethany has been proven a liar after creating a media firestorm and police hunt for a Black woman, whom she alleged threw acid in her face. It's been revealed that she has a history of mental illness and made up the story, which led to many message boards being shut down due to racist messages aimed at Black women. As the commenter below notes, Bethany may not be that crazy after all.
She wasn't that insane. She knew to blame a black woman and had a damn good story to match...

By Souleo. T.I. and Tiny get married; Laurence Fishburne's daughter shakes what her mama gave her for the cameras; Jennifer Lopez possibly reaches yet another career dead end by joining "American Idol," for the show's upcoming season; a new House bill aims to limit the inequality of crack vs. cocaine sentencing; and if Newt Gingrich has his way the U.S will be in war with North Korea and Iran in no time. It's all here in this week's round-up. Get the hype.
T.I. & Tiny Tie Knot and Share Lip Gloss

Tiny can officially issue a sigh of relief because after years of being a devoted girlfriend and mother rapper T.I. has officially made her his wife. As the commenter below notes not only are they now officially sharing their love with each other but they might also share the same make-up artist too.
"Look at them with their "matching makeup". LOL. Nice pic. Congrats to them."

Laurence Fishburne's Daughter Has A New Career

Why oh why? There seems to be no logical explanation that celebrated actor, Laurence Fishburne's daughter, Montana aka "Chippy D" would choose to star in a porn film. The commenter below captures the confusion of us all, quite well. But not so sure that we should blame Laurence so soon for all of this.
"This is truly sad that she believes that using her body and having sex on tape is going to get her famous...Kim K didn't know her tape was surfacing(or @ least that what she said), she is deliberately puttin it out...like heey look @ me! She needs to get it together..and smh @ Mr fishburne"

Jennifer Lopez and the End of "American Idol"

After Paula Abdul left, Ellen DeGeneres couldn't save "American Idol," and in agreement with the commenter below I don't think Jennifer Lopez can make much of a difference. But the producers of the series are moving forward with Jennifer as the new judge on the upcoming season. If the producers really want a fighting chance they need to bring in a whacky personality like Jessica Simpson to give us some sorely missed Paula antics and plead with Simon Cowell to stay on for one more season.

What the Crack?!

The House of Representatives recently passed a historic bill that aims to reduce the disproportionate imprisonment sentences between crack and cocaine convictions. The former has constantly placed a large number of African-Americans in prison while the latter has seen a dramatically lower percentage of Whites go to prison. While some welcome this new bill as a chance to limit the inequality of such sentences, others like the commenter below help to note that such a bill still doesn't get to the root of our nation's prison-industrial complex.
"I think we need to take it a step further and have prison reform. This disparity was clearly either racial, or all about money. I live in Greensboro, NC, and they just built a new prison with federal money. The County Sheriff BJ Barnes was on the news talking about the old jail, and how now we could convert the old jail into a federal prison to receive x amount of dollars monthly for each federal prisoner we house...The whole conversation was about money. The prison system is all about profits, not rehabilitation or punishment, and a lot of prisons are privately traded on the stock market. Google it if you don't believe me."

Newt Gingrich Wants War

Oh Newt, did you really need to use advocating war to get back in the public eye? The former Speaker of the House believes that the lives of young U.S. men and women are so dispensable that we should go after both North Korea and Iran immediately since the U.S has only attacked "one out of three" of the "Axis of Evil," trio by invading Iraq. There really isn't much else to say about Newt's comments except what's highlighted below.
"Newt's America, a nation of fearful biggots."

Chris Brown, along with T.I. and several others, are featured in a new action packed film... Takers. The film, which is scheduled to hit screens in February 2010, is about a group of organized criminals who execute perfectly timed bank robberies and are steps ahead from the Police. But things become a bit challenging for the robbers, as they plan one final heist with a promising payout, but are barged by a relentless Detective who won't let them get away. Peep the trailer below
Takers also stars Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon, Jay Hernandez, Michael Ealy, Paul Walker, and Idris Elba.

Let's cross our fingers and hope that the rumors are true! Today, SandraRose.com reported that the Atlanta rapper may be released early from his bid at Arkansas' Forrest Prison and moved to a half-way house. These rumors have not been confirmed by the proper sources. Currently, T.I. is still serving his original sentence of 366-days, which began back in May.
Regardless of the matter, T.I. is is one of the most trendy rappers in music. In one of our favorite songs, "Live Your Life (featuring Rihanna), the self-proclamied King of the South raps about ignoring haters and urges that we simply live our lives to the very fullest. Tip equally motivates us to stay on top of our game... with style. in the song he spits:
"I'm the opposite of moderate. Immaculately polished. With the spirit of a hustler. And the swagger of a college kid"
