In today's culture, more entertainers than ever are trying to branch out in other industries beyond music. The latest rapper to try and make it big in the fashion world is Big Sean, Vibe magazine reports. During a recent interview, Sean opened up about his newest venture and even showed off some of his designs for the shoot.
The clothing line, Finally Famous, is set to be a mix of casual wear ranging from T-shirts and pants to sweatshirts and jackets. In the pages of Vibe, Sean debuts the fashions - one outfit consisted of a long-sleeved tee with a lion logo and leather sleeves. It seems as though the rapper could be looking to fellow designer Kanye West for inspiration, as West has been known to have a love for leather as well.
In a press release, the young artist admitted he is far from knowing everything about the fashion world, but that he's excited and passionate about creating a successful line.
"Launching my own label is a dream come true for me," Big Sean said. "Even though I have a lot to learn about fashion and the industry, I do know what I like and the small details that make something stand out to me. I look forward to evolving the line with more colors, fabrications and offerings to show the other dimensions of my style progression over time."
Hypertrak reports pieces from his freshman collection are on display right now at the PROJECT Movement event in Las Vegas. This is the same event that Shaq announced he and Reebok will be re-releasing his once popular Shaqnosis and Shaq Attaq sneakers.
Would you be interested in rocking any of Sean's designs? Do you think entertainers should stick to what they know and stay out of fashion?

When it comes to designing clothing lines, some performers are able to make the cut, while the majority should stick to their day jobs - think Kanye West. The latest entertainer to try her hand out in fashion is Rihanna, as she recently debuted her first women's clothing line at London Fashion Week.
Despite her efforts, many fashion experts weren't thrilled with her collection. One critic from The Daily Beast went so far as to call the event a "horror show," declaring the "clothes were hideous and without an ounce of panache or style between them."
The fashion gurus from Pedestrian TV were a little less harsh with their take on the event. The critics' biggest problem with the collection was that it was a bit to 1990s - with slouchy denim, large hoops earrings and oversized hoodies - and not enough 2013.
Even though Ri's take on fashion might not have been as successful as she'd hoped, the singer did get props for one aspect of her show - the soundtrack. Models may have walked down the runway wearing belly chains and sneakers, but they did so to fresh music from the likes of Jay-Z, A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar.
Did you see Rihanna's clothing line? Would you buy any of her designs?

The organizers of the third annual New York City Governors Ball recently announced the musical lineup for this year's festivities. Founders Entertainment, the organizer of the ball, announced that rapper Kanye West will headline the June party along with many other acts. The fete will take place on Randall's Island Park in early June.Â
New York native Nas will also perform during the three-day long event that aims to celebrate music, art and entertainment in a fun manner.Â
"It has been our goal since day one to build a world class music festival for our hometown of New York City," said Jordan Wolowitz, a partner at Founders Entertainment. "With the incredible support of the fans, and the artists involved, we are taking the next big step towards achieving this goal. Gov Ball '13 will feature the very best acts in live music over what are sure to be three epic days in June. We can't wait."
Spinner.com reports tickets for the show, taking place June 7 through 9, will go on sale on January 25 at noon Eastern Standard Time. Even though many fans might be excited to see what type of hip hop clothes West will be wearing to the event, there are tons of other acts on the roster. Famous groups like Kings of Leon, Pretty Lights, The xx, The Lumineers, Azealia Banks, Robert DeLong, Of Monsters and Men and more will also be performing.Â
Are you planning on checking out the acts at the Governors Ball?

When it comes to fashion, most guys look to celebrities like Jay-Z, LeBron James and Denzel Washington for advice, depending on their individual style. However, one entertainer who has outwardly voiced his dislikes of certain trends despite failing to launch himself in the fashion industry recently went where most men have never gone before.
MTV News reports the one-of-a-kind Kanye West did not disappoint in terms of his eccentric look while performing during "12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief." West turned heads, not for his sound, but instead for his unique leather pants, skirt and hoodie combination.
West rocked the (fashion-forward?) look with pride, other than the sweat dripping down his face from the leather-sweatshirt combo. Fans may be wondering what made the rapper decide to wear a skirt, and secondly why he chose to wear it along with pants.
Remember, this is the same man who openly bashed sweatshirts and other normal menswear on his Twitter page. In May of this year, West discussed the clothing pieces he despises that New Yorkers tend to wear.
"Just driving through the city and I see a few things I hate. I hate button up shirts with hoodies. I hate hoodies with sport coats. I hate sport coats with button up shirts, jeans and dress shoes," West wrote on his Twitter page. "I hate khaki trench coats with jeans and off brand work out sneakers. I hate khaki cargo shorts. I Hate big ass striped scarves. I hate long [expletive] sideburns with the line up RnB [sic] beard."
Given his recent fashion choices, would you take advice from West? Do you think he wears skirts and other unique outfits simply to get attention? Would you ever wear a skirt?

Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast with serious force on October 30 and many in the region are still feeling the effects. The Associated Press reports more than 100 people have lost their lives in the wake of the storm while many others lost everything and now need to rebuild.
Countless celebrities have donated their time and money to helping the East Coast recover. MTV held a "Restore the Shore" Telethon featuring the cast of "The Jersey Shore," while NBC held a relief concert featuring big name stars like Mary J. Blige and Bruce Springsteen. Even though the event took place nearly a month ago, support for those affected by the storm has not waned.
BET reports the latest efforts come by way of a benefit concert "12-12-12" that is set to take place on that date in Madison Square Garden. The show is bringing together a who's-who of entertainers including Kanye West, Paul McCartney, the Who, Jon Bon Jovi and Roger Waters. Other A-list performers like Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel are onboard to show their support for the region.
"The response from the entertainment community to help those most affected by Hurricane Sandy has been nothing short of astounding," the Madison Square Garden Company, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment and The Weinstein Company said in a joint statement regarding the concert, Reuters reports. "We expect to announce additional legendary performers in the near future and we are confident that the event will ensure those in need will not be forgotten, and vital aid will be directed to rebuilding our communities along the East Coast."
The continued support is necessary as it's been reported Superstorm Sandy caused an estimated $50 billion in damages. Donations from the concert will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which works to support various other organizations that help those hit the hardest.
Will you watch the concert? Have you been affected by Sandy?

Rapper Lil Wayne may have sworn off music in order to pursue his skateboarding career, but it seems old habits die hard. MTV News reports Wayne's newest album, "I Am Not a Human Being II," is set to drop on December 11 and the rapper had some help from producer and artist Kanye West among other famous friends.
Wayne opened up about the collaboration with West and other musicians, but was discreet about how big of a role West has had on the CD.
"Production on the album - I got people like Juicy J, Cool & Dre, David Banner on down to uh... Streetrunner, 'Ye...I mean it's so many, shoot," Wayne told the news source, though he played down exactly what West has done. "Yeah, he got some music on there. Actually, I don't want to give too much up but he's got a big hand in the album, you'll see."
AllHipHop.com reports some fans might be more surprised to learn about Wayne's close relationship with Dr. Dre. In the same interview with MTV, Wayne discussed his long friendship and working partnership with Dre.
"I've always worked with Dre. I'm not sure if you guys know how Dre works, Dre always send you a song, so I done probably did like 90 songs for Dre," Wayne told the news source. "You just never know which one he's gonna put out."
Wayne believes his fans will really enjoy the latest LP, which is the follow up to 2010's "Human Being." The rapper said this CD is more inspired and he took his time to craft the songs, rather than rush them like he's done in the past.
"I paid attention to everything I did," Wayne told MTV. "You're getting the quality of all my albums: Tha Carter IV, Tha Carter III, the same with this I Am Not A Human Being II. Hope you like it."
Do you think Wayne's new album will be good? Are you surprised he's working with West again?

The 2012 BET Hip Hop Award nominations were recently announced and Kanye West seems to have the show in the bag. The Associated Press reports despite the fact that West hasn't released a solo album since 2010, he is still extremely relevant in the music industry and in the eyes of his fans.
West, who has 17 nominations, has had a big year producing and collaborating, rather than doing projects on his own. He is up for awards in categories for producing, directing and for songs he's been a part of in 2012.
Also in the spotlight with tons of nominations are rapper 2 Chainz, who is up for 13 awards, and Drake with 11 nods.
Funnyman Mike Epps will be hosting this year's awards. The show is set to take place on September 29 in Atlanta and will air on BET on October 9, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Nominations in the Lyricist of the Year award include J. Cole, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nas and Kanye West, while Best Hip-Hop Video could go to 2 Chainz, ASAP Rocky, Drake, Wale or Kanye West featuring Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz.
Will you tune into the BET Hip Hop Awards this year? Who do you think deserves to win?

Jay-Z's decision to take Brooklyn back to the old days in terms of style has now transcended into the world of jewelry. So far Jay has influenced the Brooklyn Nets by taking the team's look back to basics in a mix of white, black and gray. Now, jewelry designer Gabriel Urist is following suit. Freshness Magazine reports the artist recently unveiled his new collection of rings and pendants meant to honor the franchise.
Introductory pieces include the Brooklyn Primary Signet ring, the B Ball Signet ring, the Brooklyn Medallion, the Brooklyn Shield Double Pendant and the BK Wordmark Band. The collection is available on Urist's online shop and fans of the team will certainly want to have one of these custom pieces on and ready by November 1. This is the date the Nets will kick off their season against rivals the New York Knicks.
Universe Magazine reports Urist is no stranger to crafting sports memorabilia - in fact, it is his livelihood. Urist honed in on his jewelry making skills while attending the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, he then moved to New York City and has since made a name for himself crafting custom sports-inspired jewelry and other pieces for celebrities. His clients include Kanye West, Spike Lee and Mos Def.

Sneakers have been a staple in American history and culture for quite some time. Complex.com recently took it upon themselves to compile a list of the most influential people in sneaker history in order to praise the creators, innovators and icons who rock sneakers right.
Run DMC
Coming in at the number 10 spot are the members of Run DMC. The site pegs the group as "hip-hop pioneers, endorsement pioneers and the kings from Queens. Run DMC breaks into the top 10 because of its ability to fuse together rap and music with the sneaker culture. The group single-handedly brought adidas into the forefront of the sneaker industry in the 80s and helped grow the company to what is is now.
Mike Parker
Mike Parker comes in at number nine as he is the designer and CEO of Nike. Under his watch since 1979, the sneaker company has continued to grow and evolve based on the specific needs of the people who wear the shoes. From runners and star athletes like LeBron James to the average mom in America, Nike has a hand in the lives of many. Complex reports the key to Nike's success is that everything that Nike and Parker does "from the top down is considered from a design perspective, not a sales, product, or marketing perspective."
Kanye West
Kanye West came in at the number six spot for his ability to get people excited about sneakers again. From designing his fresh Air Yeezy's to bringing the sneaker culture into mainstream USA, West has played a part in expanded people's ideas on the footwear.
Time Magazine reports the Air Yeezy II hit stores on June 9 and caused a frenzy from the get-go with fans trying to get their hands on West's designer kicks. One fan wanted a pair so badly he or she pre-ordered the sneakers on eBay for $90,300 - the retail price is $245.
Complex reports Nike founder Phil Knight takes number four on the list. He is followed by Hiroshi Fujiwara, known as the "godfather of all things street," and Kevin Ma, the founder of Hype Beat Magazine and Tinker Hatfield, dubbed the "greatest sneaker designer of all time."
Michael Jordan
Taking home the coveted number one spot is none other than basketball legend Michael Jordan, for being the greatest basketball player of all time. Jordan's superpower were his shoes and when the famous Air Jordans hit stores, it gave fans everywhere a chance to be like Mike.

Kanye West has his hands full as of late, but a new rumor may create an even fuller plate for the rapper and designer. TMZ is reporting West may soon be facing America as a judge on the popular series "American Idol."
West is reportedly in talks with producers to sign on as a judge alongside Mariah Carey and another yet-to-be named judge. Names like Nicki Minaj, country crooners Keith Urban and Brad Paisley and Enrique Iglesias have all been thrown out as the possible third judge. Should he sign on, West would be earning a solid $18 million for the season, the news source reports. Although that would be a hefty pay day, a source close to the rapper reports he's not fully onboard with the idea just yet.
"He’s on the fence because he’s not sure if 'A.I.' is in his wheelhouse," the source told TMZ.
American Idol drama continues with just Carey signed on. ABC News reports a source said when Carey heard Minaj was possibly in the running to be a judge, she "hung up the phone" as she was assured by producers she would be the only woman on the panel.
