The Chrihanna saga has ended. The verdict has been made. After months of speculation, we can now say Chris Brown is a convicted felon without saying his "alleged" encounter with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. If you've been living in a cave this entire time, the charge was related to an altercation between the R&B stars before they were due to perform at the Grammy Awards in last February.
Viewing Brown's court hearing somehow reminded me of R. Kelly underage sex tape case or even Michael Jackson's child molestation scandal. It's one of those huge stories that you will never forget. Everyone eyes were glued to the set and mine were right beside them.
I wasn't surprised that Brown pleaded guilty for his assault charges. The leaked TMZ picture speaks for itself. But when no jail time was given, my jaw could have touched my desk table. I really thought the "Forever" hit maker would be dancing in his cell.
All jokes aside, his behavior was unacceptable. No one deserves to be treated that way. Abusive relationships should not be tolerated. It's best to leave ASAP. Your worth is more important. Yes, Brown can break it down in the dance floor. However, violence is not the answer. A five years probation and six months community service may not be justice. I am glad that Brown is putting strength and energy into the community.
I will pray, wish on a star, and drop pennies in the pond for the both Brown and Rihanna. We wish them both luck in the future.
