The sun’s shining, the flowers are in bloom, and Jordan Brand’s Summer 2021 Collection is officially underway – what more could you want? Well, if it’s to cop some sneakers from the aforementioned crop, then you’re in luck!
Despite the fact that it’s still springtime, the summer-ready collection started sneaking its way onto shelves earlier this April via the Air Jordan 1 High “Hyper Royal” release. It appears we won’t have to wait very long to see its collection-mates follow suit, too. The sportswear behemoth has recently announced plans to drop a brand-new Air Jordan 13 colorway this May.
Known as the “Red Flint” or “Gym Red” Air Jordan 13, this impending iteration serves as a spiritual successor to the illustrious “Flint” scheme from 1998. Like its muse, the toeboxes and tongues come clad in supple white leather, while smoky “Flint Grey”–suede overlays run from the quarter panels to the heels. The most obvious deviation from the OG “Flint” is the quilted, 3M-reflective, side-panel overlays, which appear in a rich “Gym Red” tone.
As is the case with most Air Jordan 13s, branding is sparse. The lower tongues are home to black Jordan-branded tabs, while the upper tongues boast black Jumpman embroidery. The final – and perhaps most important – piece of Jordan symbolism appears on the lateral heels as holographic cat’s-eye emblems.
Foam midsoles are given a fresh coat of white paint, and come partially wrapped in hairy “Flint Grey” suede. They sit atop black-and-white rubber outsoles.
The Air Jordan 13 “Red Flint” is slated to arrive May 15th on JimmyJazz.com in full-family sizing.
