Football (not to be confused with football) as a cultural phenomenon is obviously much more prevalent in Europe than it is in the States, but Ligue 1's Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) is slowly starting the change that. In 2018, the French outfit became the first football club to ever partner with Jordan Brand, and it didn’t take long for them to make a splash in the American sneaker scene.
Though the long-distance relationship is still very much in its infancy, the two organizations have already managed to produce a number of high-profile collaborations. So far we’ve been treated to a bevy of PSG–themed Jordans, including versions of the Air Jordan 4, 5, and 6. You know what comes after 6, right?
Yes, the latest installment of the Parisian partnership comes in the form of the Air Jordan 7 “PSG,” which is set to hit shelves later this month. In a deviation from previous black-and-burgundy propositions, this sneaker comes suited up in hues taken the club’s home-stadium kits.
Uppers are done in supple, tumbled white leather, while transparent fine-mesh makes its way onto the quarter panels and ankle collars. Neoprene tongues and inner booties come dressed in a deep “College Navy” tone, contrasting the pristine base. Elsewhere, “University Red” seasons the sockliners, side-panel overlays, heel tabs, and Eiffel Tower–inspired heel logos. Additionally, the sneaker comes accented with “PANAME”–lettered tabs on the lateral sides, metallic-gold Jumpman emblems on the ankle collars, and fleur-de-lis insignias on the heels.
Moving soleside, you’ll encounter black foam midsoles, contrasted by white and “College Navy” accents. Black rubber outsoles follow suit, and the sneaker is capped with colorful, patterned insoles which bear “ICI C’EST PARIS” lettering.
Look for the Air Jordan 7 “PSG” to release May 22nd on JimmyJazz.com for a retail price of $215.
