ABOUT NIKE AIR MAX 97

Initially released in 1997, the Air Max 97 is the first Nike sneaker to feature full-length, visible Air. The silhouette was designed by Christian Tresser, who took inspiration from the ripples that form from displaced water. The sneaker’s iconic first colorway, the “Silver Bullet,” was influenced by Japanese bullet trains, as well as the metal components found on mountain bikes. Since its initial release, the 90’s runner has maintained cultural relevance through its futuristic design and functionality.
